Building wall
 

Im gonna be getting 4 orion hcca 12s and putting them. On a orion hcca 8000.1 thinking of building the box 11 cubic feet tuned to 27 with3 6 inch round ports at 20 inches long wondering what all you think I wanna be able to do some hair tricks and have it sound good between 25 to 40 hertz since most of my music is down around d that range if anyone sees anything different or has more experience with these plz feel free to let me no

why would you use aeroports when building a wall? Walls generally use much more port area and can use much more box volume too. Walls are different than a ported box in the back of your car. You cant simply use the same recommended specs and get your best results. Some will argue with that, but those are clearly people who havent built a loud wall lol. Id make your wall much larger. You can decide which type of design you want also....do you want to go 4th order, 6th order, center port, drivers side port, clamshell or something else...?? If you were concerned with SPL the only thing certain is that a drivers side port would be loudest. Whether thats with a ported enclosure or a bandpass of some type will depend on the build itself and how you tune it.

What kind of vehicle is this?? What are your intentions with it (planning to compete?? Just be a loud street car??? Street car mostly that competes sometimes??)

what gear do your already have???? Because if you're planning a walled setup there are about 40 woofers that id choose over the HCCA's, and same goes for the amp. Particularly if you're buying from a retail store.

The only thing Id like to say is...Dont half ass a wall. If you're going to build it... do your homework, think ahead, dont rush the build, overbuild it, plan ahead. Theres NOTHING WORSE than seeing a wall which is essentially a half assed ported box pushed up to the B pillar. A wall should be built to the car itself.

Car audio is addicting, if you build the wall properly (overbuilt) and build the wall as big as you can within the car then when the time comes to upgrade then it will be much easier to do because the outer shell of the enclosure is already done. You would just need to change baffles for instance.

Feel free to PM me for ideas there, Ive built some loud stuff in my day and am slowly building some loud stuff now.

And remember...having a wall is a big responsibility. If you have a wall in your ride and go to competitions in particular....it damn well better be loud. Theres nothing more embarrassing than showing up with a big bad wall, lots of cone area, lots of power, lots of batteries...and you get blown out by the trunk cars with two woofers.

Also, once you go wall you wont go back. You will only go bigger and bigger with the wall. Its a big step. Its like having a fast car and putting a supercharger on it.
