You can do it yourself if you have some tools. There are other ways. You can make the sides and top out of MDF and then seal this box to the bottom of the trunk in the car with expanding foam. You DO NOT NEED to fibreglass anything at all. I have done this install for many people sucessfully without any issues. It's easily removed afterwards (if necessary) by just cutting the foam and using a plastic spatula to rub off the rest of the foam. The seal is very very good as long as you clean the trunk surfaces with acetone and then wipe clean. The other thing is that you can use 2x4 or 2x6 or 2x8 or 2x10 (you get the picture!) to build the sides of the box and then use MDF for the top. My brother inlaw came up with this style of install 20 some odd years ago when he use to own his own shop.
