False Wall Build For Sundown X 12's
 

Hi All!!

After a box build that was too big, I am seeking some help and advice. The car is a 2000 Accord Coupe. Alot of the sound is trapped in the trunk. I have tried several configs with this car and found the 2 best ways to sound good.
1. Subs firing to rear of trunk
2. Subs firing into cabin with box pushed back to tail lights.

When concluding this, the box I used was much smaller. This box is literally the size of my trunk. I tried a few years back to fire straight into cabin (with box right up against seats with seats down) and results were "OK". Didn't lose any SPL but my low end response was not as great. If I rebuild this box and seal off the trunk from cabin, will this help to remedy this issue? Will tuning lower help out?

Theres really no rule that will guarantee results...its all trial and error. However, if you want more low end response you can simply lower the tuning of your enclosure.

Yup, that's what I figured. This time around, I will be tuning lower. Somewhere between 28-30hz has seemed to sound really good in this car. Right now this thing pushes sooo much air it ain't even funny. More so, than my 15's did. Sounds great but I feel there is more that this set up is capable of. Ample power on tap and strong elecrtical to boot. Out of curiousity, has anyone pulled off a hair trick in a trunk car? Doing small ones now but i think with facing subs forward, air movement will increase quite a bit.

there have been quite a few trunks around that can do hair tricks.

Remember a hair trick isnt really about being loud, its just about moving air. So low tuning and either cone area or power is all youll need with a good enclosure of course.

My first car ever when I was 16 was doing hair tricks out of the trunk and the car only did a 142.2 @ 27hz.
