Focal Sub

I recently bought a Focal 40V1 16" sub from a friend with an enclosure. It's a ported box. Does anyone know if this sub will work in a sealed box? Right now it's in a 2.22 ft3 box, a little bigger than I wanted. Thanks.

The owners manual states that it will work, but doesn't provide any volume reccommendations. If you really want to bump the size down, you may be able to get it as low as 1.8ft3 or so sealed, but only your ear will tell you how well that works in your application.

All the technical specs are there. I guess I should find a sub enclosure calculator and go from there. Thanks.
