glue for plexiglass?

I am building a plexiglass amp rack for one of my installs.
i want to fuse 1" clear plexi rod between the two 1/4" plexi bases and don't want to drill, tap and screw the peices together.
What is the best glue for this as I don't want it to come apart down the road?

def. a clear apoxy...I tried this before...it works very well..and very strong..I used the clear stuff from Canadian tire, it was like $29 for the two tubes..(I didn't want to cheap out)

ok cool guess i am off to crappy tire this afternoon.
I also want to set a blue led into both the top and bottom of each support rod...what is plexi rod like when drilling into it?
Should i go slow and easy to avoid melting?

I found it depends on how deep you go, I drilled TINY holes into my plexi with a regular drill bit, just taped off the area, and went slow..It stinks pretty bad though..

Always slow and steady sir.

got it thanks guys

You should call your plexi vendor about adhesives. They sell a solvent based glue that essentially melts the pieces together so they become one piece.

^^ Agree with Dukk...I know mine was sufficent but I wasn't in direct contact with hard bass hits, or air movement, and my setup it was in the dash...Try what Dukk said first...see what they have to say first...and worst case scenario, Apoxy :D

methyl chloride or reson bond for plexy

well i went to the local crappy tire and picked up the best 2 part apoxy that they have and it is for plexi.
Give it a try on a couple of scrap peices first and see just how strong it is.
