for beginners, use RE Audio's Enclosure Calculator, which can be found our their website. I dont suggest using it if you are aiming for specific results, because it has several flaws. For daily use, it'll do the job

WinISDPro is actually the better choice. it also calculates cone excusion and allows for adding filters and also VC temperature..
watch it though.. cause drivers and projects between winISD and winISDpro are not interchangeable..

let me know if you need help with it. I have used it many times.

What flaws have you noticed? I notice no program comes to the same calculations... RE, WinISD, or BB6P. What to believe....

with the RE calculator, tuning is always 2-4hz higher than what it says it is.
cubic footage is often off (sometime up to 0.2 cubic feet)

2-4 Hz? out of what? 50Hz? that is 4-8%
How are you measuring anyway? 2hz out of 50 hz is hard to measure!
How accurate are your TS parameters and what is the production variation?

are you taking into account the following:
sub volume
temperature rise of vc
humidity

let me use an example.

you type in your measurements to the RE enclosure calculator and it spits out a 2.5 cubic foot enclosure tuned at 35.2578xxx hz

if using pen and paper, and an enclosure program (i have one that no one else has) the enclosure would come out to be 2.45 cubic feet tuned at 37hz

is it soo off that your going to hear a noticible difference? Probably not.

that is just a couple of percent... again the TS parameter variations on production subs is greater.
As for the calculated difference. You would have to check what both programs are doing to see why they are off.. subtle things such as:

Port end correction
driver volume
thermal expansion of wood (maybe up to .5% per degree C) so your box volume from -10C to 30 C would be several percent.. but we never consider this.
Try using WinISDPro and add VC temperature say of 100deg C or more. you would be surprised at how much the sub response changes.!
Others???

Plus.. rememmber why your are tuning a sub to a certain frequency? in order to be a match for your in car gain.. which is also an inprecise number!

you also tune an enclosure for the music you listen to...
