I have a guy that knows about wood work but nothing ab car audio. I have him the measurements. We are using 1" mdf. I have 2 Orion hcca 12's. I have a cerwin vega stroker 2000.1 amp, and have an extra battery. What I need to know is...
What kind of terminals for the box are best?, will I need an additional amp, will I need an after market alternator, will I need another battery,
I am using titebond 3 for the box, also do I put silicone callking at all the joints on the inside , this is my first box, and I don't know hardly anything ab audio. Plz help.
Also what size should terminal holes be cut, and plz tell me any thing I may need to know that I left out.

I'll do my best to answer these as simple as possible as I've had a couple beer while watching hockey.

1. you can buy terminal cups at most car audio install shops. I usually just drill some holes and run the wire straight out.

2. That amp should do OK, but the more power the better. (I haven't looked up specs but it also depends what voice coil etc the subs are).

3. Aftermarket alternator shouldn't be needed but it would hurt anything. Try it out for the time being and if there's some serious light dimming I'd recommend looking into it.

4. 2 batteries should be good.

5. titebond will be more than enough. Don't go skimpy on the glue. You shouldn't need caulking, but again, it never hurts.

6. Terminal hole size depends on the terminals you can find. Again, I would probably just drill small separate holes for wire and just run it through, but this is personal preference.

What should I tune box to, it's 2 12.4" Orion hcca. It will be for rap music. Want that deep bass with out blowing anything up though

33 or 34 hertz would probably make you happy.

So I just play around with the vent hole size on the calculator til I get what's want?
What is average size of vents?

Box top depth. 20"
Box bottom depth 20"
Wood thickness. 1" (mdf) w a 2" front baffle
Square port height. 14"
Square port width. 5"
Square port length. 14"
Square port length 2. 7.5"
Total port length 30.

Tuned frequency at 37.00243

That's on re box calculator....


Or if I switch the box width to 34" instead of 36"....the tuned frequency bumps up to 38.53939....


What should I do..?

That looks pretty good to me. Being a couple notes off the tuning frequency wont be a big deal.
