ice cooler as sub box?

just a random thought that popped up, i know they have the whole radios and everything put into one, but i just want to make one a sub box with 2 12s or something, is worth it? :retard:

if for fun why not ..lol..

Would prefer building a box in the ice cooler, or lined it with a stiff material, all worth a shot..:)

FWIW I used to use coolers to store my cigars because they have a CRAZY airtight seal (without any pressure from subs, anyways). Like Paul said, if you can keep the walls from flexing and the top shut there's no reason it shouldn't work.
I would think even 1/2" MDF bonded to the interior walls should be plenty, with the reinforcement ofthe walls? (*need pilot holes and lotsa glue though!)

like i was going to remove the lid and replace it with mdf, and cut out the holes, the drain plug i would remove and replace with some terminals

What about keeping & reinforcing the underside of the lid with MDF and fiberglass, just for continuity?
