Ideas/Educate me - Ported/4th order/6th order/bandpass???

O.K. guys & gals... I've got 3 JL12W6v2's ... All this 4th order/6th order stuff has me wondering as I have NO knowledge about them at all. My set up is in a minivan behind the third row seat.

What can I do with 3 subs? I want to stay below my window line. Post your ideas here!

4th order will take up alot of room. not going to be able to keep your 3rd row if you wanna design one.

I'd do something like 0.8 cubic foot sealed partition, and a 2 cubic foot tuned in the mid 30's ported partition (per woofer)

Can't loose the 3rd row seat until the oldest moves out... that might be quite awhile seeing as he's 12. :) Not to duplicate CrazyKens enclosure but can't I do something with subs down, ports any other direction? The design I planned to build is subs up, port back.

can you have a portion of the box under or beside the rear seat? I have seen before where portions of the enclosure are at the side or under the seat allowing for a lower profile yet larger design

subs back, port to the side

No room for port to breath to the side. Boxes average 48"W of 49" allowable. :dunno: Also I like my subs to be separated. Seems to sound better.

how much depth do you have?

whats wrong with an enclosure 42" wide? you can still fit 3 12"s facing back.

16-18"max. 18" would be right at the hatch. 23" keeps me under the window line.

Nothing wrong with 42" wide if I could make it work, just means going with one big box (to port to the side) opposed to 3 smaller ones with 3 ports firing in a direction.

if you want an enclosure that will give you can go to a comp with and do bassrace as well as burp, do a common chamber enclosure with a port to the side.

It sure would be easier to design/build. lol, I'll keep it in mind. My buddy has 2 10's in a box that ports to the side with a 6" aero port. It's pretty impressive for 2 10's on 600rms.
