IDMax Box Suggestions?

Hey, new to forum and in the process of picking up an IDMax & MBQuart ONX1.1500D.

I've had some nice systems which include DD, Treo, eD and am looking for a nice SQL sound.

Right now I'm just running Infinity reference up front(Next on the to-do list), off a 5 channel Infinity amp(~60 watts/ch) for front stage.

Now, I drive an '03 Chevy S10 with 3 doors so space is kind of an issue. I'm not new to fiberglassing and was thinking about going that route with the box but what I want to know is how much space & ported or sealed?

Thanks,
Tyler

Sorry I'm not really new to the forums, I do frequent them I've been in & out of the car audio game the last 5-6 years, just got my truck not that long ago time to beef it up

BTW, was planning on a DVC 4Ohm configuration giving the IDMax ~1000w

iv owned and currently own an idmax.. specs call for 1.25sealed which i have run and love the note accuracy and tonal balance. quality is impressive. if you want to really see its true potential port and tune low to about 28hz.. youll be happy i promise.. but in that truck im not so sure you'll have the space but then again i dont know what dimensions you have to work with
welcome to cca!

Sealed sounds awesome, super accurate and gets LOW!! haven't heard it ported(I am a sealed guy unless its a 15 or 18) Although the power rating says it is good for 1000rms you may want to be careful with thepower you are planning on putting to it. For a year I ran a DD M1a(1200rms) to my Max and it was loud but on some notes made some interesting noises to say the least. Recently I changed to an Orion HCCA 225r so 400 rms and I really didn't notice to much of an output difference, but the dynamics and clarity were way worth the amp change. Yes I went from a D class to a High current A/B so the SQ has changed significantly but the overall output change was negligible. 5-600 rms is more then enough for these woofers.

If you are doing 1000 I recommend sealed, the suspension is quite soft and there is only a 2" coil so keep that in mind as well.
