Know of a 150DB Civic Coupe (Trunk car, no wall)

I am trying to get louder for next season, and I know that certain vehicles are better than others, I was just hoping that it's possible with my current car, which is a 98 civic, 2dr coupe.

I want to get louder, and just wondering if anyone has done it with this car before, and if so, what sort of box did they find yielded the best results.

thanks in advance.

I have a 99 SI. Glad to see another civic owner. What do you have for gear now, what does it hit, and what are you trying to hit for next year?

I have an Atomic amp 800.1
12" DD 95 series sub, custom box with a 6" flared aero port (8 inch flare)

i hit 143.2 at the West Coast Finals in Street A, with stock battery/alternator, and i've just upgraded my battery today, haven't tested yet though.

I'd like to see other civic builds, and id LIKE to hit 150, but anywhere over 146 would be great.

so far, my loudest position is sub up, port drivers side, and the floor is removed, so box is sitting in the space for the spare tire, propped up on some wood.

have you tried sub and port forward all the way back in the trunk or sub and port forward sealed of from the trunk.

No, haven't built a sub/port forward sealed from the trunk yet.
Have you done that with this car? or know of someone who's done well with that build? Norm from Absolute car audio also mentioned this design, sealing off from the trunk.

It'll probably be the next thing i try out then.

Also, does anyone know if its even possible to hit 150 with this type of car, or would i need to change vehicles to make it happen?

you can do it in any car chris! another thing you may want to look at is large slot ported boxes... these do well in trunks when they are pulled right up to line between the rear seat and the trunk, its close to the same idea as sealing off the trunk.

^^^ agree with jo, large box slot port, i have done this with my car this year and play 142 on music and 145 burp, on 1000 rms and 2 10 inch woofers. Before sealing it off though i would suggest what jo has said.

150db seems like a tall order for your current set up. A single note 4th order box would be my best guess.
Over 143 with a single sub in a daily driver is pretty darn respectable.
