Need help 2 15in powerbass m-15 ported sub enclosure

Vehicle : 2003 Kia Rio
Location in the vehicle: Trunk
Space available (Length x Width x Height): 36x36x15
Subwoofer make and model: Powerbass m-15
Subwoofer Size: 15in
Number of Subwoofers: 2
What type of music do you like?: Rock
Is your goal SPL or Everyday Music?: everyday music
Tuning Freq (Hz): 35 Hz

Closest specs I could find to my speaker
Gross Vb Internal 5.0 cu.ft
Circular Port 5” x 4.35” D
Fb (Box Tuning) 35Hz
F3 (-3dB Cutoff) 29Hz
Pe (Watts-Rms) 150-425
Subsonic Filter Setting If Applicable 30Hz

I put these specs into www.bcae1.com/spboxnew2
I found my trunk has a gross volume of 9 cubic feet which is one foot less then the recommended build. I need help with the box design if its fine going one foot under recommended if not i need new ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The manufacturer reccommendation is 5 cuft, that's gonna be a pretty large box mann.

You would have to work with the space you have.

Can I get your opinion on the matter would it be better to build a box for one sub to specs or build a box for both the subs but cut off some cubic feet. I don't know much about building boxes so some help designing one would be greatly appreciated. I'm actually new to car audio altogether and trying to make do with what I have.

I don't beleive the specs powerbass puts out, so my advice is to use 3.5 net for each sub which is about typical for a 15, so you total volume after all displacement (Vb) would be 7 cuft.

I am a bit busy atm, but if you can wait, I can help you with a design.

Yeah I can def wait so help would be much appreciated.

Ok no problem.

How would you like the sub and port orientation?

From your max dimension, the sub cannot go in front because of the height which is 15"

You are probably looking at sub on top, port in the front, or sub on top, port at the back, I recommend the first.

It's a trunk car right?
Do your seats fold down?
Can you fit the box in through the back seat?, if not you would have to either do one 15, or build the box inside the trunk?

Ill Prolly go with what you said Sub on top Port in the front. Yes it is the trunk of a car the seats dont fold down but Ill be able to take them out to put the box in.

ok man, sub on top with port infront or at the back would work, because you can always turn it around to see which position works you better, will work on it as soon as I get some time.
