Need help with a fiberglass encolsure. Check my design

Hey all. I'm new to the site, been surfing for a bit and have seen some slick ideas. I have 2 ideas in mind as to what I'd like to do. One is wood, and one is fiberglass, which I am leaning towards but am new to.

I listen rap, rock, alternative. (ie blick 182, theory of a deadman, 3 days grace, eminem, 50 cent, etc)

I'm prob looking at 2x10' subs. I have a 99 civic coupe with a 60/40 split rear seat. It is very important to have room to get my snowboard in my trunk, which you will see from my wood desgn. I work at an AV store, so thats where I'm getting my gear, and know the product very well. I'll add specs at the bottom.

I would like to have a ported box, which is one of my bigger questions regarding doing fiberglass. I'm also running a 4channel and a mono and will be doing some sort of amp rack as well. Setup will be SQ based, but should hammer.

My questions:
1. What is the most effective way to make a port on a fiberglass box?
2. These subs are HEAVY, I had to put the 12's into our sound board at work, they are not light. They will be facing the rear, and I don't want them tipping my fiberglass box. How should I secure it down?
3. What is the best way to measure the cubic feet if the fiberglass box is slightly rounded? Go back to good old highschool algebra?
4. How does fiberglass hold up to Canadian winters?

Fiberglass idea (I know, I got some mad MS paint skillz right? haha)

Let me explain this monstrosity, haha. The larger black surround, and the line coming down is to show the 60/40 seat split. As you can see, I left room to the right for my snowboard and hockey stick.
I'm not sure where abouts to put the port. Or should I go sealed?
I think what I'll do is tape tinfoil down my back seat and floor, put like 3 coats of resin and material, so I can take it out and bring it into the basement.
I'm worried of simple dowels and mdf ring are going to be able to hold these 2 heavy subs???
Also, laying the tinfoil and tape will give me a good start with 2 sides, but how do I form the rest? Should I build a mdf frame and rap the material around it?
Also after drawing it, I will prob do that style amp rack, but seperate, not on top of the box. I don/t wanna be mounting amps to the top and drilling. the amps will be sunken (tried to show using 2 diff reds, lol) so that all my wiring can be under the outer fiberglass lip, nice and clean, which is the goal.
I will be getting it sprayed red, and understand I will be doing A LOT of sanding, no prob, I have a wood shop in my basement.

Wood box idea

Seems self explanitory. My installer disliked this idea and told me he wouldn't build it (wants me to build a big fancy box that takes up half the trunk, but I don't have the money. Hence why I'm building on my own).
This is pretty much 2 seperate boxes attached to one long bottom with a lift part in the middle (middle will prob be 3-5' high. It also needs to be about 11.5' wide. I have 36' between my wheelbase to play with. Prob drill hole through to wire subs together to one coupler to wire at 1ohm. Amp puts out 1000RMS at 1ohm :))slot ports on the bottom.
I think this should be pretty simple to build, and I may do some sort of amp rack on top, so there is an amp on top of each sub, and then build some sort of wire channeling, again I'm looking for clean :)

Here's my gear:

It would be cool to try fiberglass, but since I'm new to this, and haven't even built a simple box, would it be easier to start with wood? Are my designs good and effective? My wood box may seem silly, but it was function over form. I have a low post count, and this is a long thread, but hopefully having drawn designs, asked questions, and shown exact specs and model of my gear, you guys know im serious and not a dreamer or wasting your time :) Thanks for all your help
