I can go up to 3.2 cubes if a bigger box will help..... NET volume...
by the way... do all these diamentions even matter.. will 1 inch off a port length or .25 of a cubic foot matter THAT much?

DD states the sub's volume, use an online calculator to figure out the volume of the port, and that will letcha know what the 'revised' net volume needs to be. You may want to double the front baffle and that would screw with the sub/port volumes a bit.
If I wasn't a few beers in I'd sketch it up.
What are your max dimensions? What kind of vehicle? Do you want th sub or port in a particular orientation?

Well, here ya go. I am NOT a box designer so don't be critical. I made some notes at the bottom as to why I went with a few of the figures. Using a similar sub and the same mentality, I came out with the best box I've ever made just a month ago. You can flush the port by putting an angle within the box if you want. Or, adjust it to suit your needs.
Hope it helps.

After careful consideration with resprect to all parameters this design would optomize your space and limitations, if you are gonna use it then recheck the cut out diameter before you cut the hole.

If you are still set on sub and port in the center then you would have to use the 6'' aero port either sticking out the box or with a bend inside the box.

What can I say? Lol! can't get more spoon fed than that. I will do it. Is there a way to put that port in the middle? Kinda ***** up where I was gonna put my amps. But I will figure somthing out.

Now. If I make the port longer. It will be lower right? Or with the same port but the box a bit bigger will now anything eh?

You could relocate the port to the middle, but would have to calculate the volume of the additional port side you would need to add, and add that volume to the box (wouldn't be much at all)
Yes; the longer the port, the lower the tuning. Same port+ bigger box= higher port tuning.

You can do whatever you want but it will change your tuning, if you are not chasing numbers then you will be ok with minor adjustments. experiment and see what you like.

Audio1der explained it for you above!

Reason I did not put the port in the center is that it will add to over all port volume and also, most likely cause unloading issues (not that efficent). However, you can try it just make sure the bottom of the port points to the right side of the box, viewing from the front and rechech dimensions to see if it's gonna be an obstruction for the sub.

That program had noting to do with designing the box, it's just a drawing program that I use to draw the box after I desiged it, it's google sketch up.
