Need Help W/ Subwoofer Box Design

Hey,
I'm new to your site but I was needing help on a subwoofer box design. I have a '96 Camaro and I was planning on putting the box just behind the passenger seat on the shelf under the hatch. I am going to buy 2 Alpine Type-R 1242D 1500w each and a Sony Explod 1200w Amp. I was looking for a subwoofer box design that was ported or sealed. I am open to ideas and it would be greatly appreciated if someone could make a design for me w/ some dimensions. I have a few ideas to go on but I want to see what other people can think of because chances are their design would be better. If anyone has a design already or a box similar to what I have planned, pictures would be good or plans. Thanks.

Please post the maximum external dimension for the box, and the t/s parameters (should have come with the subs) so we can help you out. Also what are you looking for out of your system? Sound Quality, Sound Pressure Levels, or a bit of both? Those alpines would probably like a ported enclosure, but until you answer the above questions, we can't be sure what you want, or how to help you.

P.S. Those power rating are meaningless, the only true measure of power is the RMS or Root Mean Square power rating, for those alpines type r's i believe it is around 400rms each, but they can take quite a bit more. God only knows what real power the sony puts out. If it's not too late, I would suggest buying a different amp for those subs that would provide the power they are really looking for. Just my $.02...

I'd start from scratch again dude. Given that airspace that two of those subs need for a proper enclosure, that area just does not lend itself to that application.

As pointed out above, the wattage ratings that you are showing are meaningless and more than likely a bad match of equipment at the same time. Should you already have some of these items, let us know so that we can work with what you have. If starting from scratch, provide us a goal, that is good sound, loud, space limitations of the box in W x L x H, budget etc., then we can build a proper system for the application.
