New Box
I finally get shop class, and we are making our projects. We are going to be starting towards the end of next week. I want to make my box 2ft deep, 14.5 inches high, and 37.5 across. Im going to put my 2 10" pyle woofers in it( i know they are crappy), but i dont know if i should slot the box or make it a sealed box. And if its slotted or sealed if i should separate the subs from each other. I also got some plexiglass for peices on the back so that you can see the rear of the subs. Im gonna put neon lights inside of it too.
Ne sugestions???

I like all kinds of music and since we have like 3 weeks to do our projects i could definately take the time to tune it. I've really been wanting to try a slotted box, but i don't know how to tune it. Would there b a calculator or something that i use to help me?
What do you mean when you say "The box should be designed with the driver in mind, is it?" do you mean like the power or what?

He means Tunign frequency of your sub, fs, and did you look at what your sub likes in terms of boxes ?.. and what size to build them.. you just can't stat building a box and tune it after.. you need to integrate this into your box design

The tuning frequency of my sub is 26.9
And i couldnt find many boxes that had my subs in them.
would the Vas (cuft) help at all? cause that is 2.394 cuft.
http://www.pyleaudio.com/manuals/PL1090BL-1290BL-1590BL.pdf ---Thats the link to the manual its the 10 in subs. So would i need 2.394 per sub or if i put the 2 together could i use that or would i have to double it?

ok i found out a bunch of calculations for the box.
what is a good frequency for rock music?
I worked out that The box in the pic/diagram thing would work out to 26.9 htz, but i don't know if thats a good tuning frequency for rock

Well someone tell me im wrong but i can tell you that tuning it to 26 would be too low, a typical daily driver is typically between 30-35. If your sub suggests 2.394cu per sub then it would be best to build it to that/start testing the driver from there. If you want to get more complex (meaning you need to know the Thiele/Small specs of the sub) you could try and use some free programs such as WinISD to see how the sub will sound at that volume and tuning frequency. These program will not provide the exact results as real life, but you can see your loses and gains at each tuning freq. Try downloading it and read the help file it will guide you through the process of getting the results you want. If you listen to alot of rock I think sealed would be a good choice.
