Port Length

Ok i have a Kenwood excelon kfc-1202DVC sub and ive got a 1.5 cuft box with a 2"x14.5" opening for the port how long of port will i need to get it tuned to 35 htz. I came up with 26" . My inside box dimensions are 16"x16"x14.5" then i subtracted the displacement of the sub etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

According to my program your box is:

2.148 cu. ft. Gross
1.908 cu. ft. Net including woofer and vent size.

You need 205.2 cu. in. Vent:

Vent will be 2" wide x 14.5" high x 7.08" deep

Hope this helps

im seeing a vent lenght closer to 12" long, if you make it the port 12" long it will leave you 2.75" away from that back wall

i have my box at 2.4 now with the port length at 7.25" and my sub sounds like crap bottoming oput and stuff. i made it bigger in the beginning so i can play around and make the box smaller and different port lengths. so would i use the 12" port?

so i decided to make my box 2.1 cuft and leave the port at 7.25". the subs are sounding a lot better now. but could anyone tell me what im tuned at. my inside box dims are 16"x16"x14.5" with a 7.25" port.

thanks guys

is that a bit high for spl comps? if not what tone/sweep should i use? im new to car audio im still learnin these things.

thanks guys

Thats a bit of high frequency, but every car and system vary, I would tune 45-50 hz and take to a shop and have them run a bass sweep while metering it, fing your highest spl and burp that frequency, just my opinion but thats what I would do.
