rear seat enclosure help

not a wall.
its a box thats going to be where my back seats used to be.
whats the best option to choose for sub/port arrangement?
subs up ports forwards, ports forwards subs forwards, both subs and ports up... blah blah blah.

i just want to know who has done the same thing and what the results are that you achieved.

im looking for something loud.
if it sounds like just i dont care lol as long as its loud lol, and thats just a figure of speach because i just want it loud.

its going to be 2 clarion pxw1552 15's which should be here on the 28th of this month. and the amp should be about 1500Wrms... or 500Wrms depending on how my car responds to the power draw.

any help is appreciated.
and for anyone that can put 2 and 2 togeather to get 4 will notice that the amp specs resemble that of a saz1500d.
if your going to start bashing dont even bother putting it in her because i dont care what you have to say. bashing is useless.

Nice... hahahaha

Try everything forward first I'd say.

good opinion. :P
can i get a blast in in your tl one day?

but...
would it be better to have the port right inbetwen the subs so it fires between the front seats, or have the ports below and the subs ontop with a slot port running the width of the box, or would it be better if it was the same scenario but the port on the top with the subs on the bottom?

port in the middle

For my friends old honda... we put the subs facing forward.. and port aim up in therear deck....

Sounded great :)

totally useless to put a box at the place of the rear seat if you don't seal the cabin from the trunk. We're talking about a MAJOR cancellation issue if the bass is allowed to get back in the trunk and then reflected forward.

thats what i plan on doing. i took the rear speakers out as to put a piece of mdf to seal that passage up. then the rest of the deck lid is gonna get filled with a little bit of expanding foam to get rid of any rattles and seal it up a bit better. as well as the enclosure itself will seal off the 60/40 folding part of the seat and its entry to the trunk. so basically yeah it will be totally sealed off from the trunk.

but i dont think i would be able to get enough out of a box in my trunk to house 2 15's. so either a wall or a rear seat enclosure is kinda my only option hahaha. ive kinda looked and 10-12 cubic feet external is kinda my whole trunk :( so...

johny24 06-21-2007 10:01 PM

are you sure those subs need 5-6 cubes each?! that seems way high and if so id say get different subs, or is that with port displacement?

i think subs up port up with the port on the drivers side would be best

zinger002 06-21-2007 10:26 PM

that max external.
im not counting port in the final so im thinking about 3.5 per sub is what they are actually going to get.

steve told me clarion says like 3.5 at 45 hz...
