Small Trunk, big box
I have a clarion PXW 1552 subwoofer (15) and a DXP1800 amp (800rms) in my chevy cobalt.
would it be a good idea to build an enclosure and block off the back part of the trunk and fire the sub inside the cabin or build a box firing toward the trunk and leave some room on the side of the box where air can travel |
I am new to spl but I am almost positive that facing it forward and sealing off the trunk would be louder.

if you fire it directly into the car make sure you seal of the trunk wall as good as you can and you can get some pretty good results .

Thanks Guys
I think I will be better off facing it front with the back sealed off. it will help with leaving some trunk space and also with the rediculous trunk flex/rattle at the back by the plate with the sub faced reverse.
allthough it is sick loud right now with 800wrms running to it in the sealed box I cant wait to hear when I build the ported box, got me all the tools I need (pinner, clamps, table saw, whatever elese you can think of... I think im going to assemble it in the trunk that way itll be near impossible to steal, just gotta figure out how to clamp it |
yea face sub and port into the car, make sure to completely seal off the trunk tho. :smilie_da should yeild some pretty decent results.

Ill let you guys know when im done I think a buddy still has a DB meter at his house.
