spl enclosure for high output
 

Good day,I have 2x 12" competition subwoofers that is fitted into a bakkie(the metal behind the seat is cut to fit the box,My question is what would be a more suitable enclosure,slot port of round ports as I wish to get abit of both,great sound incl High SPL,is this achievable?if so...pls assist Me with some advice,many thanks in advance

What make and model are these woofers?

They actully called Targa D4 Comps,think They about 1000w RMS

Now what year make and model of vehicle are these going into?

Basicly I have somethng called a Bantam Bakkie,its a nice little half-ton,and the metal plate behind the driver and passenger seat has been cut to cater for the Box,the bakkie is a 2012 model,ah yes....its a Ford Bantam,2012 model and its a 1.3iXL,many thanks for Your concern/interest

Ok now we are getting somewhere. I'd suggest going the slot port route with your application.

Ok,would You have an idea if this slot port can be situated in the middle of the box,as the vent will face directly in the centre of the front seats firing foward???....and any sort of dimensions on the slot port???,many Thanks in advance for Your time and effort

Here is where it is going to get interesting, now you say you "want great sound and high SPL". With that being said are you going to be competing in SPL competitions or are you just wanting an enclosure that has amazing Bass?. I highly doubt that you have enough airspace in the back of that truck to do a SPL only application. The only way that will happen is if you do a blow through and have the enclosure in the bed of the box firing into the cabin.

I'm slightly confused,the box is gonna be fitted behind the 2 seats,housed in the bin of this truck,I understand that I won't be able to have a full out SPL vehicle,but I do want it to be highly pressurised,and obviously play music with very strong bass,I know I have to choose between a music set-up and a SPL setup,but what's Your honest opinion to get close to the best of BOTH worlds?
Jus 1 more thing,The subwoofers has 5000w written on the magnet(obviously over-rated)but They are seriously really strong,Guys normally do a 150+ with these things on a Term-lab

In SPL it doesn't matter what the RMS of a subwoofer is. Guy's that do 150+ db are running amplifier(s) that have very high output. The electrical systems in their vehicles have been upgraded and have even added more batteries. I'm in that situation I understand what needs to be done and isn't something that you can do without investing money and time into your setup just to let you know so that we are on the same page. Don't think that just building the proper box is going to get you in the 150 db club. IT WON"T !!!!!! Your going to need to grab a tape measure and tell me what the max. dimensions in the back of that "bin" are where the box is going to be placed. Do you have the owners manual for those woofers?
