tricky box for 10" mtx..

hey looking for help from all you master box builders...

http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products...ta_MZS1004.pdf

there is the tech data for the sub... heres the kicker.. i need the ported box to be no more than 18" high and i would love to have the port below the sub in the middle... so that when i open up the pass through... whammo theres the sub and the port .. get the idea.. let me know what you all come up with guys

what do you mean by, 'open up the pass through'... just to clearify

in my back seat there is a center section that folds down and access to the trunk

You want to keep the same factory specs just make the box taller so you can fit the port on the bottom? :dunno: That port is tuned to around 42hz.... Is this going in your SQ car? maybe something closer to 38hz??? Subs FS is 35.5hz so it doesn't leave a lot of room to play with.

Not sure if Jalat is already working on one for you, but as soon as I pickup the wife from work I'll design you something. Shouldn't take too long. Did you want to keep the higher port tuning. Or go a little lower? Wife's done at 7:00. Should have something for you by 8:00 ish. :)

a little lower would be amazing!!

:) you guys are the best

i am only good at desighning the sq sealed boxes not much on this ported stuff but i need the bump for the 10" lol

Design is done, I'll sketch it up after I get home. Looks like external dimensions will be:

17H x 17.5W x 14.75D. Port will have same port area only a little longer. 16x1.5x 25.5 (mid 38hz tuning) Same internal volume. :)

ooooo im exited to see!!!!

Happy box building. 1.45 @ just about 38hz. Oops forgot to add the sub hole dimension. It's 9 1/8" centered. ENJOY. Rounding port edges will help reduce port noise. :)
