Vented box for 8" RE8

Looking to build a vented box for a single RE8. Just wondering if this looks like it would be a good fit.

12" x 12" x 10.5" (H x W x D) exterior dimensions
3/4" MDF
1" port diameter, approx 2.685" length, or 1.5" port, 6.691" length

Wanting to be tuned to roughly 35hz, does that look about right for the port length given those diameters?

Thanks in advance for any info!

You are waaayyyy off.

I got 0.5 cubic feet tuned to 105hz

So what port length would I be looking at?

y a ported box for an 8?

I always prefer ported over sealed, just a preference. I have it in a very small sealed box now (0.35cu ft before displacement) and not liking it all that much.

I ran my RE8 in a 1.5cuft total net ABC with a base tune of 35hz. I ran it off of 1 channel of a Punch4080, so about 120-150watts at 2 ohms. Aside from the very lowest stuff, it was mental. Nobody believed it was an 8"

I used the formula found on this page

MTX Mobile Audio - Education

Using that, I get 12.36" length for a 2" port. Does that look right?

For a 1.5" port, I get 6.68".

Trying to keep the box size down, RE8 info shows 0.5cuFt ported box as optimal so that's what i'm trying to do.

those subs hit awsome lows in the right box...fs is 22.8Hz with 1" p=p xmax...awsome for a cheap 8" ... I got 3 in my jetta hits 143dB and plays all kinds of music

I use 1 cuft after displacement and a 4" aero port 18" long

See if you can fit in a 3" port... 2" seems a bit small as that 8 can push some air.

If I do use a 3" port, what would be the length for 35hz?
