sweet work man. :smilie_da
|
And you do this on your spare time?
Good grief man. That is some great work. |
it's not spare time any more...
I retired my job as a welder/fabricator and now I pump 2 or 3 of these out a week it's alot more fun and I have no boss breathing over my neck:smokin: |
2 or 3 a week?
What do you charge for a box? |
The carpet really does it no justice, it hides all the special elements like the mouse maze port and the curved face on the slot port. A plexi top would be a nice as a show piece or nice piano lacquer finish vice the carpet...
|
that is true but some people do not want to pay
the extra $$$$ for the fancy stuff.... a Lexan top doesn nothing for SQ though but it would look cool you might find my next personal enclosure interesting..I should have it started soon |
you are craziest box making guy i know.
you know those nice little corners you put into the boxes, what are they for? i know it does nothing for sound really. you'd need much bigger and rounder corners for it to actually have effect on sound or spl. you got som building skills tho |

i dont doubt that you make good enclosures, matter of fact they look sick. i just really dont think the small corners you use for rounding really do anything at all. im just going from what i know and tried. putting a few coats of resin inside the box does a whole lot more for sound and spl.

Out of everyone on this fourm - Yuli you seem to be the only one with an opinion about (know) everything. Second of all, he's been building boxes since you were knee high to a duck - what make your opinion warranted. Lastly, looks like product bashing is only ok on this forum as long is it's not your TF ones being in the spotlight!
Sub Sonic beautiful enclosures - hats off to you - makes our day to day boxes look like junk. |
im not bashing anything man. his boxes are F'ing amazing, i wish i could produce such craftsmanship.
This IS a forum, look even you posted your own opinion. What makes YOUR opinion warranted? The beauty of an opinion is that it does not need to be warranted, it's just an opinion. Even a fob like me understands the concepts of opinion. |
there is always someone that can find something wrong with every product
I got about 3,000 enclosures under my belt with ALOT of in car testing and I know for a fact that if the corner fill was not there the round abouts in the port would have more port area than the straits and would cause turbulance acting as a choker....this would only make the enclosure behave as if it were lower tuned and if space was an issue and the port area was on the small side port noise would be present...a Termlab that can tell the difference as well as a set of ears I have built enclosures with all rounded ports..there is a small improvement the extra build time makes it very cost effective |
you actually see a diff on termlab with and without those small corners? I have had none when doing exactly the same thing.
try putting resin in the box. |
My opinion was directed towards my methods/boxes and also to pass praise for his craftsmanship - your opinion was directed towards his design and features of that design. Bottom line the boxes are wonderfully constructed and setup properly to the driver. Yuli I bet if you asked Sub Sonic to build you a box for your TF One's - I'd put money down that you would get more db's out of them!
Anyways back to installing can't make any money making opinions |

try putting resin in the box. Resin is like a mirror for sound waves....no where near as acoustically dead as premium rangerboard. I only use resin for the rienforcment of the flares on the MDF enclosure |
good to know.
|
yeah yuli, you know nothing this spl thing.
