What Type of enclousre for Pionner Subs

Iam looking to purchase a Enclosure for my pionner subs, they are 400W rms each so 800W rms in all, I have looked at this box
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10076989&catid=1106 2&logon=&langid=EN

How much more would I have to pay for a custom ported box which would be better then the prefab bassworx, Ive heard prefab is but this one is decent, any thoughts or suggestions on what pricing I should be looking for and how much of diffrence in sound quality and performance I would be looking at?

a custom enclosure wouldn't cost much more than a pre fab
I can build you something that fits both the sub and vehicle

And the shipping from BC to Toronto on something that size will only double the cost!

It's only natural that a custom box will outperform a prefab one, that's the entire point of custom. It's designed specifically for the subs you're using, and not a generic design for any sub. I have a custom ported enclosure for my Pioneer 10's, and it pounds pretty damn hard. I'm only using about 800 watts of my 1200w mono block, and it can easily outperform things with more power that are sitting in prefabs. Custom is the only way to go if you want to maximize the performance and output of your equipment. And the only reason it's more expensive is because you aren't doing it yourself. I built my own box (and it is rather huge, for the trunk of my Cadillac) for about 50-60$ (having the tools helps), while even the cheapest prefab ported boxes will cost easily twice that. The other major benefit to custom is that you can make it fit not only the subs, but the vehicle application too, which you'll quickly realize is just as important once you get down to the numbers.
