WTF kind of exception is this:

- Vehicle was not completed for competition in time to accrue minimum required points

Isn't the whole point to get your vehicle to the point where it is ready and able to compete? Man, what was I doing all these years working my ass off over the winter so I would have a car ready for the spring/summer season? I could have just screwed the pooch all summer, wrote a sad little email in Sept, worked straight on a car for a month and get an invite to finals.

aka, we arent expecting many sq cars for finals this year(just like iasca last year) so if you have a heartbeat, a vehicle and 150 u.s in yer pocket come on down, we would like nothing more that to see you in kansas

its cause there are USA citizens that are military and are called away and cant make the same deadlines.

not too many of you know this. but IASCA does a set of shows specifically for the US military. cause they see that they want to compete but cant. Its like an albertan wanting to do iasca. or an BCer wanting to do db drag. its hard to rack up points to go to a show when there are limited shows. only this year have guys had as many db drag , usac and iasca shows in bc.

same goes for the states side.

Well doesn't that make things easy. You can buy your way into Finals. Wow.

Team Shadow Sep 1, 2005 05:30 PM

it is a peculiar circumstance that would get you invited into finals. Hey i thru 2 speakers in my car and i wanna go doesnt constitute and invitation. but there are dudes that are seriuos competitors and are bound by other obligations.

each individual circumstance is weighed and judged in its merit. No one is buying an invitaion as you call it. these are pecuuliar circumstances that are being looked at. prime example. natural disasters that just happned.

if you only had 3 shows and took first in each. would you not write to iasca and ask to be invited on the merit that only 3 shows happened in your area and you took top spot in all three.

there are dudes in alberta , sask and manitoba that dont even have any shows. rob vo had to come 12hrs(twice) to rack up his points and he will now get an invite according to his merit. would you not want some one of that calibre at a finals?(because of his determination and willingness)

lets me clarify again, please read above, its that and nothing more, dont misunderstand the real reason, the military thing is horsesh!t, and sux your righ, you can buy yer way to the finals, but only if you are gonna catch a plane back from iraq or afghanistan to compete with your ride
