01 altima setup for metal?

Hey everyone, looking for advice on what type of audio setup to go with on my 01 altima. I mostly listen to metal stuff ( as I lay dying, all that remains, bullet for my valentine...). Most of my stuff has heavy, very fast, double bass action.

I'm a mechanic, so all the install would be done by me. I've done plenty of speakers and head units, but as far as all the audio details and and specs, I know very little.

Basically I'm lookin to find out what specific brand (and size/wattage) of speakers to get. I'd be replacing all 4 speakers. Plus, which brand/size/amperage amp should I be looking for, along with the same for a sub(s).

What's the better choice in brands/gauges of cables?

I know that eliminating outside noise is just as important as the equipment, and plan to go with dynamat at some point (maybe not right away)

Thanks in advance!

For metal i would go with smaller subs (8") or pro sound woofer (10") that will react faster to reproduce more accurately the double bass. Yes some larger subs can be very fast too, but tend to cost much more and will play much lower, something that if you only listen to metal is not very important.

A few guys try the new Sundown SD-2 8 inch sub in sealed box, it will play the low (not with authority like a 15 but will play it) and is pretty fast for the double bass. For the pro sound stuff the problem will be that they won't play anything under 50Hz unless you put them in ridiculously large box.

For the speakers the Hybrid Audio Imagine serie is pretty good, but will tend to break up at high volume, their Clarus serie can get very loud but is more $$$.

If you not going to sound deadening & sealing the door right away don't bother doing the speakers in the doors since you will get resonance and the backwave of the speaker will cancel out most of the midbass...

For the power cable welding cable is your best bet if your going with 1000w+ under that a standard pure OFC 4GA kit will be sufficient. RCA well i've been running from cheap 5$ cable to custom made silver cable and couldn't hear the difference in the car so buy what fit your budget. For speaker cable go with 14GA pure OFC or less depending on power (monoprice.com have some good price if you can't find anything locally).

amps, kenwood have some new class D that are not too expensive and are small, xr400-4 iirc and for the subs depending on the output you want but you could go with the matching kenwood sub amp (600w).

Match all this to a Pioneer deh-80prs deck and you can run active (no passive xover) ,use time alignment and custom xover point to get the best out of your system.

iirc the altima has dash 3" speaker, you could also go with a 4way setup and put 3" mid in there to get even better sound. This will require an external processor and 2 more channel of amplification.
