1/2 MDF or 3/4 MDF

Is ther emuch of a difference cuase i would like to use 1/2 mdf over 3/4 due to space restriction and i can more meet requirements of the sub. so does making a box outta 1/2 insted of 3/4 going to make a buge difference? thanks.

if u run 10inch subs that dont require alot of power than 1/2 inch is good , if u are using 2 + subs then 3/4 is the way to go

it will be for 1 12 in sub. right now its a kenwood sub but it will be ungraded mostliekly in future. powered by mtx 6500D. ported box as well.

If you're using 1/2" make sure you use lot's of bracing....kinda hard to put a screw into 1/2 " to hold it together.
Maybe fibreglass would be a better choice for you.

what the problem with using 1/2 to 3/4 just box stability or will sound waves escape though 1/2 that would not escape though 3/4. like if i use 1/2 inch wood but use a ton of screws, glue, silicone think it will preform same as 3/4

Flex.

If the sides of the box flex you lose ouptut.

If you use 3/4 inch you only need to brace it good. If you do use 1/2 inch then brace it damm good.
