Hey,
I am wondering what you all think would be a very good 1000+ watt rms amp, for my "12 mtx 9500? it needs to be between a 1000-1200 watts rms @ 2ohms! If you could give me a ruff price for the amp used that be great too!! I have used mtx amps and I do like them, but I havent been able to find a 1501d so I'm expanding my search, but I would like the quality of the amp to be similar if not better then mtx!

Thanks a lot
David

Question!
I was told that doubling the watts, will gain 3db. Is this true?
Thanks
David

I think the rule was doubling watts gives you 2 or 3. Someone explained it before, but I forgot for sure.

A general rule in power is a doubling of rms wattage or a doubling of the number of speakers will gain 3db. A bigger gain in output is usually done by using the proper box.

US-Amps DE-1000 is a really nice amp. I'm not sure if US Amps still makes them or not . . . it is handcrafted in the USA. I think US Amps may be having their amps mass produced in Asia now, which sucks

Bryan

clarion DPX1001.1 or the new DPX1200.1 will get you close to 1200watts for under 450.
