that way 160dB can probably be achieved

good luck
The neon was setup just ofr spl but the 300zx is going to be a daily driver (well, during the summer anyways) so it probably wont be reinforced to the same extent (ceramic cement inside the trunk, trunk lid bolted, doors bolted, etc) but i think with more power in less space it should slam 3x as hard -- the reenforcement on the back of the car is irrelevant 'cause the subs and ports are forward facing and it will be braced behind the seats with 1" mdf to give the chassis a bit of help too.

Anyways, if 160 is out of reach then i guess the goal of this thread has been acomplished! thanks for everybodies input, i'll post back some numbers when it finally gets turned on.

Like i said, with only 1200 watts behind them they weren't working too hard -- we planned on running them off a bpx2200 but then the car got scrapped so we're back to a fresh build with a significantly more valuable car that I don't feel like destroying for the sake of audio. I figured with more power in less space it would slam harder, but I agree that 12 db is a long shot.

We'll see i guess.

What mic you using that only does 150db ???? must be a old audio control or something, put it on a Termlab in the windshield and then you`ll know what it hits.

Just my .02
