Hey, I am going to do a deck in a friend's 1989 Prelude tomorrow, any tips on how to pull the stock deck? I know the mid 90's prelude you had to remove some screws on the side, and pull the console back a bit to get the radio shroud off, is it the same with these, or are these ones strapped in the back, from the factory? Any help to make it go smoother is appreciated......

I have a 1991 and have done it about a million times. You have to take the shifter knob off, then the casing around the shifter knob. There are screws on the side of the casing and then there are two right underneath the heater knobs. You will have to play with the emergency brake to get it off. Once it is off, it will have a few wires connected to it, take them off. Once off, it will expose the piece that holds the radio...it has 4 screws...once those are out, then you can pull the whole unit out and the deck should be bolted to the back of the car radio housing...your done. Hope this helps.
