Dilema

Dilema
Alright It really isn't a dilema, just having a hard time making the right choice. Back a while ago when I knew nothing (know a bit now, but still not enough) about car audio, I purchased my first amp. Kenwood KAC9152D (900 RMS @ 1 ohm stable), and they were matched up for my 2 Kicker CVR's DVC4. Well I found out the one coil was ripped or damaged (as you know by my other thread) and the one was still in good shape, but wanted to get some newer ones since the cat pissed on the good one. So I bought 2 brand new, 15" kicker CVRS... but dual voice coil 2 ohm.... Either way you see what I'm talking about now. Personally I love my amp, I'd really rather keep that and replace the subs, since it'll be cheaper and more money in my pocket. They are in a sealed box to spec I believe. Anyways, what do you think I should do? I want full power out of this amp, and these subs aren't going to do it for me.

yeah excecpt they are dual 2ohm. Anyway if you like the amp then you answered your own question...get rid of these woofers and get new ones. If you want to keep these subs then just get an amp that puts out rated power to 2ohms instead. I am sure you could find one online and it would be cheap and more powerful than the kenwood

to the original poster, can you not bring the subs back?.....whats the amp push at 2 Ohm?....no real feasible options i'm afraid.

According to the Kenwood site the amp is rated for 900 watts at both 2ohm and 1ohm so as a selling feature its 1ohm stable but doesn't increase in output at lower ohms.

So I would keep your current configuration and wire subs series each then parallel them to amp and viola 2 ohm load and your good to go.
