Now before you all start telling me how there is no contest between the two, let me explain my question:
I know that the Orion's will be louder.
What I want to know is how much NOTICEABLY louder will they be?

Livin - Loud 10-18-2004 02:24 PM

i bet u the L7's will be louder! hehehe... if u can beat a 151.5 on a pressure sensor with 2 of those 10 orions you'll show me up

but either way it depends on what power, and what box. 2 completely diff subs, so it can go either way. just go wit what u like.

yea, ill see what i can do for the lloyd banks tix

ya, the orions will be louder if you give them atleast 1400 rms a piece, they take to much power. give each L7 600 rms and your boomin!

Team_Obsession 10-18-2004 07:29 PM

I would use the L7's over the Orions for SPL ;)

Five words! Have you heard hcca lately? Orion was the godfather of car audio and the new woofers still mean hard core s.p.l. !!!!

If you're using only 1 D3 for both subs then I don't see the Orion's being much louder, if at all.

A modded D3 at .25 has been measured to put out just over 2800w RMS.

I really hope you're not running your amp at .25 on a daily basis.

So say each sub is getting maybe 1000-1200w. The L7's will do really well with that sort of power.

The D3 is running at 2 Ohms daily.
And isn't it 3000wrms@2Ohms?
You sure you're not talking bout a D2?
