2 10's and 2 12's?
Hey Guys. I'm building a system, and I thought I'd go with something new. I've got 2 old school mtx 8000 12's and 2 a1 focal 10's. I've got 2 amps to run them, but will I need a equalizer to adjust the frequency to both pairs? I heard somewhere that they cancel each other out at certain frequencies? To me, at a certain frequency, say 60hz, won't they be playing in unison? Any advise?
I considered runing 4 -jl 10's once but 2 were W-1's and 2 were W-5's. Talked to the local JL guys and they sincerely recommended against it due to different X-max and a variety of other different reasons.
I would say that I would agree merely for the reason that if you want the loudness of 4 subs like you're asking, you're better off in my opinion to just get 2 subs and the proper amp to do the job.

The best way to eliminate this problem would be to have the 2 different sets of subs playing different frequencies. But IMO it just doesn't make a lot of sense.
