A friend of mine bought a 2003 H2 last week. It has a DVD player and headrest monitors integrated into the stock Bose system. (AM/FM, in dash cd, OnStar)

He can't get any sound to play from the DVD player. The movie plays fine on the headrest monitors, but no sound comes through the speakers.

He is using the following equipment.

Monitors are accelevision.

Headrest monitors

DVD is also from Accelevison.

DVD player

There is a round dark redish black "globe" in the centre of the headliner that I believe would be for wireless headphones. (he did not recieve any headphones with the truck) There is no name on this "globe" thing to tell what it is. It is not the remote receiver for the DVD player, that is mounted elsewhere.

I have tried hitting the "CD/AUX" button on the dash headunit, but all it does is switch to the cd player, it does not change to AUX.

I have tried surfing the FM stations to see if it is coming through one of the radio frequencies, but I could not find anything.

Does anyone know what I have to press to make the sound from the movie come through the speakers?

If this truck does have wireless headphones, does that mean you cannot get sound through the rest of the system?

He did not receive a remote for the system. Would this possibly be what is required to make things work?

Thanks for any help.
Later,
Brad

Here is a picture of the dash that he has. It shows which radio he has.

Maybe that can help.
Thanks,

maybe there is no FM Mod installed witht he system? Maybe look for a switch under the dash area for the FM mod. Any IR head set should work .

Sound to me like the DVD player was never connected to the factory head unit at all. Easiest thing to do would be get a wireless FM modulator.

try turning the dvd player on
and then seeking the fm band from
88.3 to 90.9
if that doesent pick up try looking for a switch
like stillwater sugg.

Thanks for the help guys. I will double check the suggestions.

The hummer was purchased from a dealer and they were no help getting the system to work.

He pulled a couple of interior panels off and it looks like the RCA,s run towards the front dash area. This leads us to believe it is hooked into the full system. We were just hoping to find an easy fix, before we had to tear a bunch of interior panels off. :(

Thanks again,
Brad
