3way Front Stage Setup. What do you think!

Im new to the car audio world and have been reading for years now and i finally am starting to put my own together.

Right now heres my plan.

Car: 2006 Mazda 3 GT Hatckback
Alternator: DC Power HO 220AMP
Battery:2x Kinetic HC1800
High Speakers: Alpine 1.25" Type X Tweeters
Midrange speaker: Alpine Type X 5.25"
Low Speaker: Alpine Type X 6"
Subwoofer:2x Alpine Type X 10"

4 Channel Amp: 2x Alpine PDX F4
Mono Amp: 2x Alpine PDX M12

Processor: Alpine PXA-H800 when it comes or Audison Bit One

I know a true 3way active usually uses a 4" midrange driver but im not about to dishout 1200 for the F1status alpine speakers.

Tweeter and 5.25 midrange will be located in the A-pillars, 6.5 in the doors and subs in the trunk in seperate ported enclosures.

So your thoughts please!!!

i've been looking for the f1 status mids myself but looks like i'm not finding them you can go for the scan-speak 12m (alpine used that design) which goes around 250-300 each speaker

it wont be a true 3way, there isn't enough separation between the 5" and the 6". The 2 speakers are designed to do the same thing. Is there a reason you have to have type x?
Have you looked at the JL C5 3 ways? or what i have done in that car was i built 5" components in the kickpanel, and installed 8" midbass drivers in the door.
VERY nice set up. just a couple of ideas.

the 5 and 6 will be setup differently, the might be designed for the same application but will be setup different.

what kind of input are you looking for?

I was very happy when I switched to a 3way front stage.

I'm not saying it isn't going to work, but a good deal isn't so good if its not going to do the job properly.
Are you really going to achieve a proper enclosure with those speakers in the pillars?
No point in having a big 15" sub in your trunk in a tiny box, when often a 12" in a proper box will serve you much better.

Also, have you looked at options allowing you less than 4 amps? That is alot of drain, alot of wire, alot of space, and a lot of install hours to make it semi decent.

Regardless it will be a sweet setup if installed properly. I would just personally look for less amps and a more appropriate midrange.

good luck!

Well the 5.25 speaker will take alot of room on my a-pillars and for an proper enclosure i dont see that being a problem seeing as it will not require much room.
As for amps 4 is minimum, 2 subs and 6 speakers. thats 8 speaker outputs so there is no choice with an active setup.
Also 4 inch midrange i hear cannot play as loud as a 5.25, i want to get loud with good sq so we will test it out and she how she plays.

The 5.25 will work as well as a 4 for covering the frequency range of a midrange and will have similar output.

Trying to fit a 5.25 into an A-pillar though is going to be a hard challenge..

You can always machine an Alpine cover for the jl amp for the look :-P
