40a Fuses

Somoeone may laugh at me but I can't find the damn things.

Anyone know where I can find them in Mississauga ? I'm sick of pulling over on the highway to swap another 30a fuse into my amp lol

... a fuse should never blow (unless there is a fault)

and you need to identify what type of fuse is needed

Queijo 05-10-2009 08:37 AM

The amp takes a 40a blade style fuse. The ones that come in diff colours and in 5 10 25 30 etc

I bought the amp off a buddy but it had no fuse in it so I've been using 30a fuses for now but obviously they r too low so they keep popping but I've had zero luck finding the 40a fuses that my amp requires.

It's a Kenwood kac-7204

So if anyone knows where I can find them in Mississauga lmk pls

And the obvious choices like Canadian tire etc don't carry them they only carry upto the green 30a ones in the blade style

Nobody at all know where to find these??

DeadlySones 05-10-2009 11:41 AM

Try crappy tire? :dunno:

Queijo 05-10-2009 11:53 AM

first post said they don't carry them lol thx ne way

an audio shop should have em, or try part source

DeadlySones 05-10-2009 12:48 PM

I just left both crappy tire and Part Source (looking around), neither have the mid sized 40A. They carry the 40A MAXI (huge) fuse. I did find something called "add a ?something" It has a fuse end and an opening for 2 fuses to sum as one. You could put two 20A's in it.... :dunno: There is also a wire off the side of it you would have to cut off. I'm not sure what its max rating is, but that is what it's for...

If you try this and it blows them fuses, I'd say your amp is on its way out and is drawing too much current. This might be why there wasn't a fuse in it when you bought it.

try part source

and if it does blow 40 amp fuses....and the amps shot, put some coat hanger in or soemthin, cuz its just gonna blow everythin up anyways

This may sound silly, but have you visited or contacted Selective Sound, also located in Mississauga. They have an add on the forum website...

Also, what kind of fuse is it, ANL, AFS, AGU ?
