6.5" speaker opinions

I just bought a 2001 saturn and want to put some speakers into it, factory ones are blown and sounds so bad
i believe they call for a 6 3/4" or 6.5" will work
I have a pioneer head unit deh-5000,
I had my eye on pioneer 6.5" http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11269_Pioneer+TS-D1602R.html
mostly just for price and i have had good luck with the pioneers before.
not looking for anything too wild and crazy
i am curious about some component speakers but have never tried to install them before
any suggestions will greatly be appreciated
thanks

I've run Pioneer and JBL co-axel's in my old 93 Saturn. Always been a fan of Pioneer but I found the JBL's from Best Buy/Future shop sounded a little smoother especially on the tweeter.

Check out the BestBuy website as they sometimes offer free shipping.

I was perusing the Future Shop flyer last nite and saw that they have the Energy Convertibles on sale for *I think* $79 for either the 5.25 or the 6.5. These are a decent sounding speaker and the tweeter can be mounted either like a coaxial or separate like a component set.

EDIT: Here we go: Energy Speakers

Those pioneers are fine. Also look for deals on Infinity kappa stuff. I have had some for 8 years and am very happy with the overall sound.
There are many good products out there. ALpine type R or S. Polk MM or dB. list goes on. Stay away from speakers that have tiny lil shiny plastic tweeters or 3-4 way speakers...stuff like this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_18415_Sound+Storm+SSL+F260s.html
or this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_16659_Pioneer+Premier+TS-A933P.html
those speakers are made for the marketing wars to please the more is better buyer.. 3 way is better than 2 way.. 200 watts is better than 180 watts etc.

Once you have good speakers, your next choice woudl be:
1: either a power amp for the front speakers. or
2: a sub and use high pass on the deck for the front speakers. If SQ is what you are looking for you dont need a big setup.

The energy components can be mounted coax style, but the energy coaxs (that you linked to) can't become components :p

I've been running my soundstream components for literally 14 years, lol. And they still sound amazing.
