68 Chevelle Malibu Project!!

hey guys!

ok my friend and I are gonna build a system in this guys 68 Chevelle Malibu next september! .. now everyone is welcome for ideas or comments.

my buddy has already done a paint job on it, and it's all nice under the hood! so now for the project,:

first off we're gonna strip the inside and soundproof everything,.. well this is something we never done so, I'm wondering? is Dynamat the best or should we look at something else? should we do the whole thing.. I mean, trunk, roof , doors and floor.. or just specific parts? and how many layers should we put on the floor since it's an older car with a big noisy motor.. or does it matter ?

guess I'm looking for someone with experience in sound deadening material application.! so anyone with suggestions or comments..

thanks

For an older noisy car (assuming the exhaust will be loud) I'd do as much as you can afford to do.
Dynamat Extreme is very good, but also very expensive. There are just as good for less money alternatives, but I am biased so I'll just point you HERE to edumakate yourself on it.
Good luck on the project and be sure to post lots of pics here.

hey guys!

ok like I said in my original post we are only gonna start fixing the car next september but, now the guy wants to start buying part slowly. so the first thing he wants to buy is sound deadening material. now for anyone that reads this, we are planning to do the whole car with one layer, including the trunk. does that sound good or should we put more then one layer at the transmission, or anywhere else cause it's an older car?

now the guy is still on a budget, so can you point me to a good place where I can order. I'm in Timmins, Ontario,ca

thanks

not sure I'm allowed to do this but someone will let me know for sure, do a google search for forum group buy on edead SEČ, go through whatever forum you find it under......I got it for like $1.07 per square foot, even with shipping it worked out to a great deal better than you'll find locally...I got 240 square feet for like 350 shipped, worked great and it's the butyl, not the asphalt.
