Hello, I am gonna be getting 1 or 2 8" Subs to put in my crx. I have been doing some research and found that not too many companies make 8" subs...I will be using a Zapco AG750 to power them.

I am considering these name brands:

-JLW7
-KICKER L7
-Resonant Engineering
-Rockford Fosgate HE RFP4808 etc etc..

which other high end 8" subs are there ?

Ask chaos here on CCA..he knows of a tough little 8" sub...

:D

The Resonant Eng. RE8 and the TangBand W8-740 don't come anywhere near to touching the 8W7 and the 8L7.
And that Zapco amp would kill both of em easy (the RE and the TB)

a couple 8L7's would be a good choice...

why not go with a single 10 or 12?

I want to save as much weight as possible. I have a crx which doesnt require a lot to get sound from... 8" Sub, in a ported box will sound loud enough !

How abouy Boston acoustic ? This sub looks really beefy !

I have heard the Kicker 8L7 in a vented box, sounded nice. Could look at the Blaupunkt transparent subs, we have some at work and they are quite light weight and sound pretty decent.

Check out the Elemental Designs e8a. One hot looking, beefy little sub. Those Bostons look meaty too.

How about the new Focal PolyKevlar series 8 inch sub...it's not on their website but I saw some they just came in at the local shop...awesome units, sweet looking. The pair they have is going into the front 3-way stage of an M3 install.

I better verify that those were not the new 5-inch PK 2 Power subs, I'll let ya know.

I have an e8A here for testing right now, and I am very impressed. It's great excursion capabilities let it get as loud as some tens.

Personally though, I'd choose a single ten in a sealed enclosure any day!
