8 subs
#1
Right now i have two eclipse 300W rms subwoofers. I am running them with my new 1300Wrms (at 2 ohms) infinity amp (gain is turned over half way down). I am gonna keep my subs i own now because they have great sound quality and they hit really hard. BUT, i was checking out a car audio site and found some "boss" 250 rms subs (4 ohm) for $25 each. I don't know if "boss" is a good quality brand or not but either way i think i should try the following: I want to buy 8 of those subs and wire 4 sets of two 4ohm subs in series (will get me an 8 ohm load) then wire those four 8ohm sets in parralel to get a 2 ohm load on my amp.
I think this will work but i am not sure if it will be worth the $200. Will this pound really hard or do you guys think since the subs are so cheap they will probly fall apart in a week?

I would keep my eclipse subs and the box but me and some friends cruise mainstreet every friday and i won't lie, i want the attention. So i figure i would just switch them in every friday. But i am wondering if you guys think that it would be worth it to spend $200 and run 8 boss subwoofers at 1300W.

^Yankee alert. Nice to see you hear.. I mean here. Most people here are amazingly knowledgable.
I think years and years ago boss used to make great subs. I used to have a 6" Boss sub.. it rocked for a little gaffer.
now Boss is just prime competition for Pyramid and Jensen.
If the subs are only $25 each... they're priced that way for a reason.. ask anybody here.
YOu get what you pay for man. Good subs cost good money.. and thats that. BTW.. rather then have 8 subs.. why dont you just use one good one and save yourself a TON of trunk space? AND weight too? I myself have one beastly sub... yet I still have a trunk. Its just way less wiring, extra wood for the box, and sub wieght to worry about.
Besides its more impressive showing off one WICKED sub then 8 low end ones.
For $200.. you can get a good sub in the "FS:" section. If you have any questions with how good a sub is.. just ask. Were here to help bud..
best wishes with your new set-up.

You know what, a good installer can take crap and make it work to the best of it's abilities. At the price offered, if the box is right and the wiring is right, my bet is that it would wail, provided you treat it with respect.
