8s
how would sayy 4 decent 8s in a 4 cube box at 30 hz on 1500 or so rms do?
any one know were i can get some good 8s for a good price? i was lookin at these http://www.torrentaudio.com/xo8-p-102.html |
your planning on tuning almost 2/3rds of an octave below the fs of the woofer........this is most unadvisable
|
ok.. simpler tearms please? lol whats that mean lol
|
the fs of a speakers is it resonant frequency, we will talk about that some other time, as a general rule of thumb you shouldnt tune below that frequency as the speaker is, for lack of a better term, not designed for it, i would recommed trying to find a woofer that is more suitable for being tuned at a lower frequency. maybe a bigger woofer or a more specialized 8" woofer
|
It means the speakers you have play only certain frequency, ex. 40hz-80hz. If you tune your box lower then the 40 hz or their Fs you will be looking to cause some serious damage to those speakers. If you want low tuning you are gonna have to find small drivers with a low Fs, which will be harder then finding a larger woofer (12,15,18) with a low Fs.

alright that makes sence i was lookin to do a few 8s just to get the "wow"
ive had.. 2 10s at 35 hz one 10 in a abc box one 15 at 33 hx and 12 at 33 hz and a L5 12 at 33 hz im lookin to really switch it up but the most room i can get is 4 cubes soo cant do that much |
Serious ported performance in a 8", look at the DD1508.
