8v batteries

where do i get a couple?..ive never seen them before in stores ect..do i have to order them at the local lordco or something?

why do you want 8 volt batteries ? this just doesn't make sense to me but i could be missing something , try a battery store . i can see using 2 6 volts to make 12 with more amperage but 8 just makes me wonder .

i would think he is doing a 16v set up

Brad The Best 02-12-2007 12:20 AM

crazy i guess im to newbish for such things . or im just content with a modest stereo.

all i can find on some on the net is that they run them in golf carts .

Mr.Loud 02-12-2007 12:22 AM

yes..trying to do a 16v or higher set up.. but i am not sure how to wire them to produce 16 or higher.

zzzzzzz 02-12-2007 12:29 AM

run a 16v alt to a set of batteries and run off the toyes of that and have the car run of the 12v set up that is in the car now

Mr.Loud 02-12-2007 12:35 AM

depends how cramped it is under the hood.

instead of going with 8 volt batteries wired in series id just go with 16 volt batteries.

powermaster makes great cheap agm batteries in 16 volt...batcap has a 16 volt version of their 8400 although its very expensive. And kinetik has a 16 volt battery aswell.

Stick the second alt into an a/c bracket or some custom made brackets, then run wire from it back to the battery.

Im not sure about ground, but I believe you would have to run a separate ground as well, rather than grounding through the chassis.

i couldnt replace the 16v with the 12v could i?, or would i have to find a place to mount the 16v
