Adjusting gain/bass boost to ensure max power

Hi all. First time poster.

I'm using a Kenwood KAC-8105D Mono subwoofer amplifier — 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms.

I'm running a Kicker 2 x 12" Dual Subwoofer Enclosure (DC122) RMS: 300 watts total / 150 watts each. (Both subs are wired together out-of-the-box at 2 ohms for that 300w rms.)

So it looks like the amp is a little more powerful than the subs (which sounds ideal to me). So my 2 questions are:

1. How should I adjust the gain/bass boost levels to ensure I am getting maximum power without any fear of blowing anything?
2. Should I bridge this or not? (If so how?) (also i assume the subs are bridged together already however I am very much new to this terminology).

Thanks!
