which Infinity speakers do you have? I have been out of the game for a while, but last I remember, the Sony Xplode line left a bit to be desired.

what kind of car? did you upgrade the speaker wire or run factory wire? What kind of music do you listen to? Is the sony amp powering the subs or the speakers?

if you ran clean power to your Infinitys then im sure you would see a significant improvement.

Infinity Reference X REF-5002ix, and Infinity Kappa 693.11i they were in the car when I bought it, so I never really touched them the previous owner hooked them to the factory cables but they sound great. and as for the car its a 2007 chevy Malibu LS, and I listen to rap, techno, rock, dubstep, country, just about anything I have different presets with my radio for different music, and the sony amp seems to actually pump out a lot of power for the brand I have the gain and filters set so it runs at 760 watts rms and the subs are wired parallel so the each get 380 out of their 400 watt rms max

First off I wouldnt trust the power output of a Sony amp.

So for a next step I would look at getting an amp to power your speakers. It will give you a cleaner sound and give you lots of adjustability. I am surprised that they got the nicer speakers for the rear and the lower model in front, thats kind of backwards. I would get Kappas for the front if you want an improvement as well.

Eventually, if you want to continue to upgrade you should replace the sony amp, but I wouldnt put it at the top of the list of things to do.

for a replacement amp... what brand should i be looking into? ive heard good news about Hifi and Mtx but thats about it... when i got my system i had just enough money for the sony amp so when i got it and it shook down my car i didnt give it a second thought
