Mom taught me that if I had nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.....

...

I have no idea but it seems like those are some descent components, the deck looks like it will work just fine and is pretty cool. The amp...don't buy Sony car audio, it really sucks. I would recommend getting a differant brand of amp. Even a nice little Kicker amp to match your components would be nice (I assume its to power the components).

fancy lookin deck there. i cant comment on the amp but its probably garbage since its sony.

cruiseoveride 12-13-2007 05:28 PM

wow, ok, So much hatred for Sony. Poor Sony.

Sony, i know is nothing close to Alpine, MTX or Kicker, but when it comes to price to performance, I find its a good buy?

@ShockingCanada, I'll look at the Kicker amps and yes, its for the components.

@MTT , i think your mom was talking about giving advice spontaneously. ie on your own whim.

The deck is a gamble, i like the detachable gps and the usb support, other than that I dont know much about it.

By the way, all of this will require custom fabrication. I've ordered abs plastic for the dash, and a double din harness. I will probably make a new rear deck, or remove the current one and cut holes in it.

You guys know more about this stuff than I do so don't hold back.

by the way, what amp would you guys suggest for those 100RMS @ 4ohm coax?
Under $200 please.

she also taught me the meaning of spontaneity, thank you.

Here's my thing, I've never heard any Kicker components that I liked the sound of, I'm more than open to be proven wrong.

The amp, well as long as it's not abused, I've never had a problem with sony car audio (price is right).

The deck, while I'm sure it'll perform nicely, the pop out gps is kinda gimmicky to me (2 hour battery life), just doesn't seem usable.
It's also about the ugliest deck I've ever seen (just MY opinion of course) and I see absolutely no sense in cutting up a perfectly good dash for that thing.

You can get a deck that fits properly, has the same other features and have a separate portable gps with an 8 or so hour battery life if the portability is what you're after......... but again, just my opinion.

Get a Kicker amp, and something like MTX speakers if anything.

its so hard buying audio in ottawa. Wherever you go its all mainstream crap. You can obviously order anything you want. But your only gonna be able to test out the stuff they have on the shelves.

I guess i'll have to make the 30km (one way) trip to Shamuz sometime soon.
