I got my system partially but functionally installed in my new ride! I've got my dd hooked up and beating (no cap yet and no optima yet) and I've already discovered that I need some sound dampening materials. Anyone have any suggestions for cheap materials?

Also, are there any cheaper/same prices options for a battery to power my system? What do you guys think?

I still have to get my components and amp to drive them installed. Shes gonna be sexy!

Hey, got a question. What holds a headliner up? Does it use clips or adhesive? I'm driving an 06 matrix.

form what i have seen is most cars/suv so on is the headliner is on a foam back typ thing that is clips or Screws

Alright. I'm trying to decide whether I want to try to sound proof it myself or to get her into a shop. Sound proofing seems like a big job.

It's not that much of a job. Just time consuming, so I would assume that the shop will charge the whole ass and a half. And I wouldn't trust a shop to do my deadening job, unless I was good friends with the owner.
But that's coming from a prospective of a poor student :), yours might be different.

I have seen horrible deadening jobs from both customers and retailers. It is a monster job by any means for a shop to do as it involves a full rip down of the entire interior of the car for the most part. Can't drop the headliner until all the other panels that hold it up are out for example. A good shop is going to charge the labour time for this, the same as a shop is going to charge you to remove the heads from your engine and machine them after the head gasket went. Some people can do it, others cannot or do not want to. After that, choose a respectable shop and ask for digital pics to show the work.

Anyone have experience in regards to price ranges for a deadening job of the whole interior? I'm talking for labour, obviously prices will change depending on what material you choose.
