Alpine 3503 amp

does anyone know if the Alpine 3503 amplifier can be bridged? It's the small 2 channel, 18 watts x2, circa 1992 mini amp. I need a small center channel amp and since I have 2 of them, I thought I might be able to use it, unfortunately the manual does not mention if it can be done or not. Thanks in advance....v

Nope, it was a non bridgeable unit.

Back in the day, the Alpine Tech Rep gave me a heads up that using both positive leads would effectively bridge that amp (center channels were big in the early 90s). I never tried it though so I can't confirm it..

thanks guys, I'll try the 2 positive leads and see what happens. The center will be running off of a pxa-h701, so I was hoping I could bridge it for a 30-40 watt center, and use the other 3503 as the tweeter amp (18x2) for the front components. I am trying an all active x-over system, and since my car has a factory center speaker location, why not try a multi-channel set up.

What are you using for a center channel speaker? You may only need the 18watts of one channel on its own.

Initially I'm going to use the factory Infinity speaker that's already in there. It sounds pretty good as is with the factory set up, so I expect it to be pretty decent for a center speaker. As for the 18 watts; that's probably what I will end up doing, unless the amp is bridgeable. I will let you know how it works out. Thanks for the help.

Is the amp mounted and exposed...or can you hide it and use anything?I have a couple old Alpines kicking around!
