So I am in the market for an Alpine 901. I made some calls today and found out that a lot of stores have the D900 in B-stock selling for really cheap. I am told that the B-stock items have been factory refurbished, complete with all of the accessories and 90-day warranty.
Personally, I have never bought anything refurb., I have always bought brand new. Does this sound like a good deal or not? Has anyone ever had any troubles with Alpine B-stock stuff? What are some of the dis/advantages from buying B-stock equipment? Thanks. |
How cheap is cheap?

I have a refurb cva1003, and it seems to be fine.
I would suggest that you look in to extending that 90 day warranty (depending on who the additional insurance is through), as that peice has a lot of moving parts etc. It also depends on the price, how much are they? |
how much and where did u find it?
|
Alpine refurbs are pretty hit and miss in terms of reliability. extend warranty if you buy one. im not one to buy warranties but I would for sure on a refurb.

I found only a few starting at $1899 all the way down to $1399. Da-yum! Cheap eh.

Shhhhhh . . .
Here is my secret . . . Number One Sound downtown . . . don't tell anyone else. I just grabbed the D900 today for $1399. Dam good price I paid. George hooked it up. He may have a few left. I saved like $800 having not chosen the D901, which was even at cost price. I am very happy with my choice. Just can't wait to install it tomorrow! Video is back in the car baby! |
Number One always has good Alpine refurb deals.
Or is that supposed to be a secret? Great shop to deal with in general |
