Alpine CDA-9853 and KCE-422i

I was wondering if anyone knew if the new Alpine KCE-422i Ipod adaptor is compatible with an Alpine CDA-9853. I like the idea of a single cable as opposed to the other Ipod interface.

Thanks in Advance

NO!

Compatible with 2006 models only. I have a CDA 9855, so was looking at the same thing, but mine wouldn't work anyway because i already have 2 changers on the Ai-net port. Here is the compatibility note from the alpine website.

Compatibility & Notes: [These requirements must be met for this part to work]
1. Compatible with the following 2006 Alpine "Full-Speed" headunits: DVA-9861, IVA-D100, IVA-W200, and CDA-9861, CDA-9857, CDA-9856, CDE-9852.
2. Not compatible with pre-2006 radios or any non Full Speed™" model.

You need the Alpine KCA-420i Interface Adapter for iPod™

Re:

Does the KCA-420i Interface Adapter for iPod work just as well as the new one? How bulky is the module? I was hoping that the new cable would work, but such is life.

Nope

the kca22i works only with new 2006 units

I played with both units and found that its pretty much the same thing ! when u scroll it goes through :artist , song list , album etc

The only advantage is that u dont need the box and would save money because its half the price for a single cord
