Does Alpine make a product where it takes a DIn output and turns it into an RCA output.

As in you have a really old deck with DIN outputs and want to make them RCA?

Yeah they made one - of course I can't find my product manual from back then so I can't offer a model number.

Other companies do/did offer DIN/RCA adaptors for various brands too. Ask around at a good shop.

That's an interesting question because I am looking for a 5-pin DIN to RCA connector for an ORION product...does anyone know where I can get one?

the best thing to do is make your own
there isn't anybody making them anymore
i can check the pin out
i do beleive the top centre pin is rca gound and the pins to the imediate right and left are you signal
and i do beleive the alpine and orion are the same
unless you need to use the phantom power supply from the orion
i have the info at the shop i can try and check tomorrow

Pinhead...thanks, let me know. It probably makes sense to make my own. I'm not sure if I need the phantom power supply or not. Let me know the wiring for the power supply too if you have that.

Thanks again,

www.alpine1.com ... or 1-800-alpine1 ... they used to have a fax system to get that kind of info but I am not sure if it exists anymore.

Thanks pinhead...so, both right and left have the same ground at the top (pin 3 assuming I am counting clockwise and looking at the face of the DIN connector)?

What about pins 1 and 5?

Thanks,

yes the ground for the rca or din is usually always common
pin 1 and 5 do your phantom power supply
it gives you a +15 and -15 volts output usually to run one of there crossovers or eq's
